ADS Securities (ADSS) is a forex broker operating from the UAE, London, and Hong Kong. To help you decide whether to open an account, this review breaks down funding options, minimum deposits, MT4 platform downloads and leverage levels.
ADS Securities Details
ADS Securities was founded in 2011. The broker is based in Abu Dhabi but also has offices in London and Hong Kong. ADSS is regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK and the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in Hong Kong.
The group offers forex and CFD instruments to retail, private, and institutional clients on three accounts. The broker also provides cross-platform trading on its proprietary platform as well as the award-winning MT4 solution.
The company has grown considerably over the years with a client list that spans Europe, the Middle East and Africa, plus Asia. With that said, the chairman, board of directors and management team have had their fair share of scandals. For example, the company has been part of a failed bond issuance deal concerning Etihad Airways and EA Partners, among other ownership issues.
On the UK website, ADS Securities offers its proprietary trading platform, OREX. The platform is available to download on Windows computers but can also be accessed via the convenient web solution. The platform offers a sleek and attractive design, with in-depth technical analysis features, historical trades, search and watchlist tools, plus a notification centre.
The broker also offers the ADSS MT4 platform which provides all the classic features, as well as improved pricing, liquidity, and customer support. MT4 offers a more advanced trading experience than OREX.
Key features offered by the provider include:
- 30 pre-included technical indicators and EA builder
- Live price feeds and trade history
- Rapid execution and low slippage
- Fast one-click trading
- User-friendly portal
- Secure login
You can download MT4 from the website once a registered account has been created.
There are 4 key markets available at ADSS, including over 60 currency pairs, 16 global indices, a range of commodities, plus 5 cryptocurrencies. There’s also a selection of treasury bonds and shares, plus spread betting instruments on the UK website. Overall, ADS Securities provides an excellent breadth of trading products.
Spreads & Commission
Spreads on major indices come in at around 1.2 points for the FTSE 100 and DAX 30. Spreads on major currencies are also reasonable but not the lowest in the industry, starting from 0.9 pips for EUR/USD.
Other fees include daily funding charges (overnight swap fees) on cash CFDs and spread betting instruments, as well as commission on single stocks starting from 7 Bps.
Maximum leverage of 1:500 is available at ADSS, with tiered limits and margins depending on the volume traded. Leveraged trading has the potential to increase revenue but it also brings with it the risk of increased losses.
Information on tiered margins can be found within the Markets section of the broker’s website.
iOS and Android users can manage their trades and react to market movements anywhere in the world, with the free MT4 mobile app. The app is highly functional and comes with essential features including interactive charting tools, a rich history feed, and live price quotes. The app is trusted by many traders and receives positive customer ratings online.
UK clients can also use the OREX mobile app, which is available for download from the App Store or Google Play store. The app offers multi-asset trading with live news, custom indicators, economic and earnings calendars, plus educational videos.
ADSS offers funding in USD or AED, by cards (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro) or Skrill. Deposits are processed between 08:30 and 17:30 GMT and withdrawals are processed between 08:30 and 13:00 GMT.
There are no fees for deposits and withdrawals, but some banks may charge their own fees. There are also minimum deposit and withdrawal amounts of 65 GBP/90 EUR/100 USD, unless the account is being closed.
Traders can experience live spreads and prices in the simulated practice account, which is ideal for beginners who want to browse the MT4 platform download, or for experienced traders who want to polish their strategies. The demo account can be used on desktop, phone or tablet devices and users will be credited with $50,000 of virtual trading cash.
ADSS Securities Bonuses
As expected from a top-tier regulated broker, there are no bonuses or promotional deals on offer at ADSS.
ADS Securities LLC is licensed by the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates. ADS Securities Hong Kong Limited is regulated by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission and ADS Securities London Ltd is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. As part of licensing conditions, ADSS will be required to submit annual reports and financial statements to a third-party auditor.
With three levels of global regulation, traders should feel safe using this broker.
There are some additional learning resources available at ADS Securities, including regular webinars for beginners. There are also sections on technical analysis, market watch, and an earnings calendar, though these areas seem a little neglected on the UAE website. ADSS also offers the Autochartist plugin for MT4, an advanced market scanner for analysing chart patterns.
ADS Securities Accounts
The CEO has ensured clients can choose between two main account types at ADS Securities: Classic and Elite.
The Classic account requires a reasonable minimum deposit of $100 and offers leverage up to 1:500. Traders can access the full range of products on the MT4 platform, plus proprietary market sentiment analysis.
The Elite account is designed for VIP clients and offers superior pricing and one-on-one briefings from the Chief Market Strategist. Other perks include exclusive access to networking and sporting events and free access to all training courses. A hefty $200,000 minimum deposit is required, however.
Swap-free (Islamic) accounts are also available.
Attractive features of ADS Securities include:
- Free VPS
- Swap-free accounts
- Commission-free trading
- Regulated by multiple entities
- Free deposits and withdrawals
Improvements could be made in the following areas:
- Too few funding methods
- Limited & outdated educational content
Trading hours vary for each asset depending on platform session times, but currency pairs are open from Sunday at 22:00 to Friday 22:00 GMT. Specific times for other assets are detailed in the markets information sheet on the website.
ADS Securities Singapore Pte. Ltd runs the customer support team who can be contacted using the online enquiry form, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or by calling one of the department contact numbers on the website. Alternatively, a responsive live chat service is available. The support team can help with most issues.
The broker’s head office is located on the 8th floor, CI Tower, Corniche Road, PO Box 93894, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Hong Kong and Dubai office addresses can be found on the website.
Users can trade safely on the MT4 platform, which follows standard encryption protocols and uses two-step verification if authorised by the trader. Unfortunately the broker isn’t transparent about security measures used on their OREX platform.
