James Barra

James Barra

James is an active investor and financial services professional. He was formerly a management consultant in the banking and capital markets sector, where he worked with some of the UK and Europe’s largest banks.

Nowadays, James aims to help everyday investors find reliable, affordable platforms with trading conditions that match the user’s needs. He contributes to a number of websites in the investing niche and has been quoted in respected media outlets like Business Insider.

He has a degree in Law and a qualification in Business Accounting from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his young family and taking part in what he describes as “semi-active” sports, most notably padel, golf, and snooker.

In his personal portfolio, James is invested in US, UK and global index funds, has holdings in precious metals including gold, and thematic ETFs focused on areas including robotics and AI. He also owns shares in a number of individual US- and UK-listed companies, including firms in financial services, information technology and consumer discretionary. Additionally, he has invested in US and UK bonds (gilts). A small percentage of his portfolio is allocated to well-known cryptocurrencies.

Role At DayTrading.com

James is DayTrading.com’s Head of Content and Media Lead. He oversees the majority of content on DayTrading.com – working with its various contributors to plan, deliver and maintain educational guides, broker reviews, and market analysis. His aim is to ensure readers get well-researched, accurate, balanced, and up to date information.

James also manages many of DayTrading.com’s proprietary resources, including its financial regulator directory, AI stock league, and broker testing methodology

Alongside content, James is the point of contact for media enquiries and has worked with top-tier financial outlets in the US, UK and globally to connect DayTrading.com’s expert insights and data reports with relevant audiences.
