Pros

  • XM’s Zero account is ideal for day trading with spreads from 0.0 pips, 99.35% of orders executed in <1 second, and no requotes or rejections.
  • XM’s growing roster of 1,400+ instruments provides diverse short-term trading opportunities, with unique turbo stocks, fractional shares, and more recently thematic indices.
  • XM secured a category 5 license from the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) of the United Arab Emirates in late 2025, strengthening its regulatory credentials and making it a strong option for traders in the Middle East.
  • XM stands out for its commitment to trader education, with a wealth of well-presented resources, including webinars, tutorials, and even real-time trading sessions through XM Live.
  • XM’s customer support has delivered over years of testing, with 24/7 assistance in 30 languages, response times of under 2 minutes and a growing Telegram channel.
  • XM has rolled out platform upgrades with integrated TradingView charts and an XM AI assistant, delivering faster execution, smarter analysis, and a sleeker, more intuitive trading experience.

Cons

  • XM is falling behind the curve by not offering cTrader, which is favored over MetaTrader by some serious traders for its smoother user experience and superior charting package.
  • XM relies solely on the MetaTrader platforms for desktop trading, so there’s no in-house downloadable solution for a more beginner-friendly user experience with unique features.
  • Although trusted and generally well-regulated in some regions, XM also has global entities registered with the weak regulators like FSC (Belize) and FSA (Seychelles), whilst UK clients are no longer accepted, reducing its market reach.
  • While the XM app stands out for its usability and exclusive copy trading products, the selection of technical analysis tools needs to be improved to meet the needs of advanced traders.

XM review

XM is a globally respected and well-established forex and CFD broker with 20+ million clients in 190+ countries. Since 2009, XM has been delivering low trading fees across 1000+ instruments. It’s also highly regulated, including by CySEC and offers a comprehensive MetaTrader experience. Read our expert XM review to find out if this trading broker is right for you.

Regulation & Trust

4.5 / 5

We’ve been evaluating XM since 2019 and it’s earned the trust of our experts.

It has authorization from a ‘green tier’ (CySEC), three ‘yellow tier’ (DFSA, SCA, FSCA) and three ‘red tier’ (FSC Belize, FSC Mauritius, FSA Seycelles) regulators in DayTrading.com’s Regulation & Trust Rating.

XM also provides negative balance protection and segregates client funds for EU and non-EU customers, helping to safeguard your funds from excessive losses and misuse.

However, unlike publicly traded counterparts including Plus500 and IG, XM’s private status limits the availability of financial disclosures. This could impact transparency for traders seeking detailed financial information.

Pros

  • Excellent regulatory oversight for traders in Europe and especially the Middle East after securing DFSA and SCA approval.
  • A long-standing broker, established in 2009 that has attracted 20+ million traders.
  • Negative balance protection ensures you cannot lose more than your initial deposit.

Cons

  • Trading Point Holdings Ltd, the company behind XM, is not listed on a stock exchange.
  • Regulatory compliance varies by location, with e.g. the offshore entities offering fewer protections.

Entities & Licenses

The XM broker operates under the Trading Point Holdings Ltd. firm, which is regulated by several regulatory bodies. Green to red classification is based on DayTrading.com’s financial regulator scoring system.

Trading Point of Financial Instruments Ltd (CySEC)

  • Entity URL: https://www.xm.com/
  • Verify License: CySEC licence 120/10
  • Regulator Classification (Green to Red): CySEC / EU MiFID framework (green-tier – high retail protection)
  • Protections: EEA retail CFD clients get EU-style CFD protections: max leverage of 1:30 on major FX (then 1:20 / 1:10 / 1:5 / 1:2 by asset class), 50% margin close-out on a per-account basis, negative balance protection, inducement restrictions, and standardized loss warnings. Client money must be segregated, and eligible clients may have access to Cyprus’ Investor Compensation Fund up to €20,000 if the firm fails. This does not cover trading losses.
  • Who Gets Signed Up Under This Entity: Residents of the European Economic Area (EEA).

Trading Point MENA Limited (DFSA)

  • Entity URL: https://www.xm.com/mena
  • Verify License: reference no. F003484
  • Regulator Classification (Green to Red): DFSA Dubai (green-tier – strong conduct rules for retail CFDs)
  • Protections: DFSA retail CFD rules require roughly the same guardrails as the ESMA model: 1:30 equivalent max leverage on major FX via a 3.33% minimum margin, tighter caps for riskier assets, 50% account-level margin close-out, negative balance protection, and restrictions on incentives. What you do not get here is an FSCS-style compensation backstop; no statutory retail compensation scheme equivalent to the Cyprus ICF for this entity.
  • Who Gets Signed Up Under This Entity: MENA-facing users.

TPXMGLOBAL Kenya Limited (Capital Markets Authority of Kenya)

  • Entity URL: https://www.xm.ke/
  • Verify License: Licence No. 233
  • Regulator Classification (Green to Red): CMA Kenya (yellow-tier – meaningful local oversight, but not EU-level product protections)
  • Protections: Non-Dealing Online Foreign Exchange Broker. That gives local conduct supervision by the CMA Kenya framework, but no EU-style retail CFD package such as a hard 1:30 leverage cap, mandatory 50% margin close-out, or a statutory compensation scheme.
  • Who Gets Signed Up Under This Entity: Kenyan residents using XM’s Kenya website.

XM ZA (Pty) Ltd (FSCA South Africa)

  • Entity URL: https://www.xmza.com/
  • Verify License: FSP 49976
  • Regulator Classification (Green to Red): FSCA South Africa (yellow-tier – local conduct oversight, but the trading counterparty matters)
  • Protections: XM ZA is not the market maker or product issuer; derivative products are offered by XM Global Limited in Belize. So the FSCA entity mainly gives you South African conduct / intermediary oversight, while the actual product-level protections come from the underlying Belize product supplier. No ICF-style insolvency compensation scheme, and it’s a South African marketing / intermediary wrapper around a Belize counterparty relationship, not as a South African principal dealer licence with EU-style retail protections.
  • Who Gets Signed Up Under This Entity: South African residents only.

XM Financial Products Promotion L.L.C (UAE Securities and Commodities Authority – Category 5)

  • Entity URL: https://www.xm.ae/
  • Verify License: Licence No. 20200000322 (Category 5)
  • Regulator Classification (Green to Red): UAE SCA / CMA (yellow-tier for local promotion oversight, but not a full retail dealing licence)
  • Protections: This licence is materially narrower than DFSA/CySEC-style dealing permissions. The UAE entity is authorised only for introduction and promotion services, is not authorised to hold client money, and that client accounts opened via xm.ae are actually registered with XM International MU Limited in Mauritius. So UAE clients do not get SCA-based direct dealing protections like a local broker insolvency backstop. The actual trading relationship and product protections sit under the Mauritius entity, not the UAE promoter entity. The SCA itself also states that a Category 5 licence does not authorise derivatives/Spot FX brokerage, client-order execution, or portfolio management.
  • Who Gets Signed Up Under This Entity: UAE-facing users reached through xm.ae, but the actual account is onboarded with XM International MU Limited (Mauritius), with the UAE entity acting as the local promoter / introducer.

XM Global Limited (Belize FSC)

  • Entity URL: https://www.xmza.com/
  • Verify License: registration 000261/4
  • Regulator Classification (Green to Red): FSC Belize (red-tier  – materially lighter retail protection than EU/DFSA)
  • Protections: This is one of XM’s offshore onboarding entities. XM’s risk documents for this entity say it uses negative balance protection, starts closing positions at around 50% margin level, and auto-closes at 20% stop-out. Client money is held in segregated accounts. But there is no ESMA-style 1:30 retail cap here, no verified statutory compensation scheme like ICF €20,000, and XM’s offshore entity offers very high leverage up to 1:1000.
  • Who Gets Signed Up Under This Entity: XM uses this as one of its international / offshore entities. It is also the product supplier behind XM ZA’s South Africa website.

XM International MU Limited (FSC Mauritius)

  • Entity URL: https://www.xmza.com/
  • Verify License: Investment Dealer’s Licence GB23202700
  • Regulator Classification (Green to Red): FSC Mauritius (red-tier – offshore regime, stronger than unlicensed, weaker than EU)
  • Protections: Client money is segregated, positions may start being reduced at around 50% margin level, auto-close below 20%, and the account has negative balance protection. High leverage up to 1:1000, so this is not an ESMA-style capped-retail regime. No statutory compensation scheme comparable to Cyprus’ €20,000 ICF for this entity.
  • Who Gets Signed Up Under This Entity: Some non-EEA clients, depending on residence/routing.

XM (SC) Limited (Seychelles FSA)

  • Entity URL: https://www.xmza.com/
  • Verify License: Securities Dealer’s Licence SD190
  • Regulator Classification (Green to Red): Seychelles FSA (red-tier – weaker offshore retail protection)
  • Protections: The entity provides negative balance protection, may begin closing positions at around 50% margin level, and automatically closes at 20% stop-out. High leverage up to 1:1o00. You do not have the EU-style retail cap of 1:30, andno statutory compensation backstop similar to Cyprus’ €20,000 ICF for this Seychelles entity.
  • Who Gets Signed Up Under This Entity: Some international / offshore traders, depending on residence/routing.

Watch For Clones

You must check you’re signing up with the correct entity and URL to help avoid clone scams. These use similar domains and branding to lure retail investors into making deposits. Several regulators have warned about such clones, including:

  • The ASIC, via MoneySmart, flagged ‘hybridforexmarket.com‘, ‘bitbyfx.com‘, and ‘fpglobalforex.com‘ for impersonating XM’s authorized Australian branch, Trading Point of Financial Instruments Pty Ltd. XM is active in Australia via a different brand within the group – Trading.com.
  • The FCA has issued multiple warnings about firms trying to impersonate details of Trading Point of Financial Instruments UK. These include about ‘MT5-PRO’ / ‘MT5live‘, ‘WM Global Forex‘, ‘Experia Markets‘, ‘Forex Premium‘, and ‘Forex Cube‘. XM no longer accepts UK clients but its sister brand, Trading.com, does.

Infractions

XM doesn’t have an unblemished record. In June 2013, CySEC fined XM €5,000 for infringing  investment services laws and client fund directives.

Accounts & Banking

4.5 / 5

Live Accounts

To accommodate a range of trading experiences and budgets, XM lets you open up to eight live trading accounts from a choice of three main account types:

  1. Ultra Low Micro: Allows trading with a minimum contract size of 0.1 lots (mini lot). The minimum deposit is just $5, and leverage can be up to 1:1000, depending on the region. No commissions are charged on trades, and spreads start from 0.6 pips.
  2. XM Ultra Low: Designed for beginners or those trading smaller volumes, it allows trading with a smaller contract size of 0.01 lots (micro lots). The minimum deposit is also just $5, with leverage up to 1:1000 depending on the region, and no commissions are charged on trades. Spreads start from 0.6 pips.
  3. XM Zero: Best for serious day traders and scalpers, the XM Zero Account provides spreads starting from as low as 0 pips. However, unlike other XM accounts, it charges a commission per trade, which varies depending on the asset being traded. While there are no hidden fees, the overall trading cost will depend on the spread and commission structure.
See more account details

All three account types can be Islamic. This swap-free option is designed for traders adhering to Sharia law. It eliminates overnight interest charges, making it suitable for those seeking trading opportunities that align with Islamic finance principles.

While offering access to the same markets as other accounts, the swap-free account adjusts fees to ensure fairness without charging interest.

I expected XM to offer a dedicated account type for experienced traders with substantial trading volume or portfolio size. Unlike ActivTrades, which provides professional accounts with benefits like higher leverage, reduced stop-out levels, and dedicated account managers, XM caters primarily to a broader range of traders.

XM also offers demo trading accounts, providing a risk-free environment in which to explore its platforms and available assets.

Setting up a demo account takes only a few minutes. It allows you to practice trading with €/$/£10,000 in virtual funds and various leverage ratios.

I found the account registration process at XM straightforward. I only had to provide my name and email address to enter the client dashboard.

To deposit funds and start trading, I had to complete the standard KYC procedure by submitting Proof of Identity (POI) and  Proof of Residence (POR). Once submitted, my account was approved in under 24 hours.

Deposits & Withdrawals

XM’s deposit and withdrawal options are competitive compared to multi-regulated brokers such as IC Markets, Pepperstone, and FP Markets.

In particular, XM offers just a $5 minimum deposit. Minimal withdrawal amounts, however, will depend on the transfer type and are typically a little higher.

The availability of base accounts in EUR, GBP, USD and JPY can help minimize conversion fees, unlike eToro, which only supports GBP and USD for deposits, holdings, and trades.

The deposit and withdrawal process is generally straightforward and convenient. While international bank wire transfers can take several days depending on the bank, Visa and Mastercard transactions are typically processed instantly.

Skrill and Neteller e-wallets offer nearly instantaneous deposits and withdrawals for even faster options. XM also provides region-specific local payment methods, such as PayTrust88, that depend on your location.

While deposits are free, some withdrawal methods, such as certain bank transfers, may incur small fees. To keep costs low, I prefer using debit cards.

Pros

  • Low $5 minimum deposit requirement for beginners.
  • Flexible withdrawal options including bank transfers, credit cards, and e-wallets.
  • Deposits and withdrawals are processed quickly, with near-instant transfer solutions.

Cons

  • Base account currencies are limited to EUR, GBP, USD and JPY.
  • No social login or two-factor authentication for smoother sign-ins.
  • Although common, there is limited access to certain payment methods in specific regions.

Assets & Markets

4.5 / 5

XM offers a strong range of over 1,400 instruments, particularly in forex, stocks, and indices, which are key markets for active traders.

While it may offer fewer commodities and cryptocurrencies than some market leaders, its overall offering remains competitive, particularly with its extensive stock CFDs and currency pairs.

However, brokers like IG or CMC Markets provide more options for those seeking a broader variety, particularly in stocks and cryptos. BlackBull also offers a superior range of overall trading opportunities, with over 26,000 instruments available to suit various trader preferences.

I’m disappointed that XM still does not offer bonds or exchange-traded funds (ETFs). It also lacks passive trading opportunities, such as interest on uninvested cash.

However, a copy trading feature is exclusive to the XM mobile app. Popular crypto pairs are available exclusively on the mobile app, including BTC/USD and ETH/USD.

Pros

  • A growing suite of 1400+ markets provides diverse short-term trading opportunities across various economies.
  • Thematic indices have been added, allowing you to speculate on specific market trends or sectors.
  • XM offers unique ‘turbo stocks’ for highly leveraged trading on a handful of popular shares.

Cons

  • The selection of markets trails category leaders like Blackbull with its 26,000+ instruments.
  • The range of cryptos is narrow compared to alternatives like Eightcap with its 120+ crypto derivatives.
  • Bonds and ETFs aren’t available and interest isn’t paid on unused cash balances.
See more trading instrument details

Tradable instruments:

  • Forex: 55+ currency pairs, similar to major brokers like Pepperstone. Some alternatives like OANDA or IC Markets offer a slightly more extensive selection. Still, XM’s offering covers most major and popular currency pairs, making it competitive.
  • Stocks (CFDs): 1,200+ commission-free stocks, which is highly competitive. Leading brokers like IG and CMC Markets offer significantly more stocks. Still, XM’s selection covers many major companies and sectors globally, including NIO, HSBC, and LVMH, making it suitable for most traders.
  • Commodities (CFDs): 8+ soft commodities (cocoa, soybeans, wheat) is less than brokers like Exness or eToro, which offer a more comprehensive range.
  • Equity Indices (CFDs): With 30+ indexes, XM is comparable to market leaders like IG and Plus500, which offer similar numbers of global and regional indices. Some brokers like FP Markets offer slightly more, but XM covers the major ones comprehensively, including the FTSE 100, Nasdaq-100 and S&P 500.
  • Thematic Indices (CFDs): Breaking from convention, XM offers 8+ thematic indices that allow traders to speculate on the performance of specific industry sectors or themes such as artificial intelligence, electric vehicles and NFT/blockchain. It’s not an exhaustive list compared to eToro, but it covers broad sectors derived from global markets.
  • Precious Metals (CFDs): There are the primary precious metals most traders focus on (gold, silver, platinum and palladium), but other competitors like XTB provide a broader range of precious metals and more varied pairings.
  • Energies (CFDs): Key energy commodities, including brent oil and natural gas, are popular among active traders looking to diversify their portfolios with assets influenced by geopolitical events, supply-demand dynamics, and global economic conditions.

Fees & Costs

4.0 / 5

XM’s trading fees are reasonable having come down in recent years, but they can still be bettered by some day trading brokers, notably IC Markets and Fusion Markets.

Trading costs vary based on asset class and account type. The Ultra Low Micro and XM Ultra Low accounts offer commission-free trading with floating spreads starting from 0.6 pips, typical of many other brokers we’ve analyzed.

For day traders seeking even lower spreads, the Zero account provides raw spreads from 0.0 pips with a commission of $3.50 per lot per side.

Pros

  • Low spreads on the XM Zero account minimize trading costs for short-term traders.
  • Spreads are particularly competitive on major currency pairs appealing to forex traders.
  • There are no deposit or withdrawal fees for most payment methods keeping non-trading costs down.

Cons

  • Spreads can widen significantly during trading sessions based on tests.
  • Deposits in unsupported currencies (except USD, EUR, GBP, JPY) may incur conversion fees.
  • A $15 inactivity fee is applied after a period of account dormancy, penalizing casual traders.
See more cost details

Beyond trading fees, I encountered no hidden charges while using XM. Overnight fees, common in the industry, apply to cash instruments held overnight and are reasonable. The broker also waives deposit and withdrawal fees, although bank transfers might incur a small fee.

One notable fee for less frequent traders is an inactivity fee of $15, charged once after one year of no activity. Following this, a monthly fee of $5 applies if the account remains inactive.

If you’re seeking a broker without inactivity fees, Vantage might be a suitable alternative.

Platforms & Tools

4.8 / 5

XM offers two of the industry’s most popular trading platforms: MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5).

Disappointingly, there’s no support for cTrader but TradingView charts have been added, the latter of which we’re increasingly seeing being integrated by brokers, including IG and FP Markets.

The broker does provide a proprietary mobile app, which is available for Android and iOS devices.

Watch my video walk through of the XM app below to see how it looks and feels, as well as how to place a trade.

MT4 is well-known for its simplicity and reliability, making it best suited to forex trading. It has robust features such as 60+ technical analysis tools, customizable charts, and support for automated trading via Expert Advisors (EAs).

The upgraded version of MT5 provides a more advanced suite of 80+ technical tools, such as additional indicators, extra order types, and access to a broader range of asset classes, including stocks, bonds, and cryptocurrencies. It includes Depth of Market (DOM) features and a built-in economic calendar.

Both platforms are available in desktop, mobile (iOS and Android), and WebTrader versions, allowing trades to be executed from anywhere.

XM's MT4 platform
MetaTrader 5
See more platform details

XM also enhances the MetaTrader experience by offering a free VPS service for uninterrupted automated trading, but only for clients who maintain a minimum trading account balance of $5,000, or equivalent in other currencies, and on condition that they trade at least five standard round turn lots or 500 micro round turn lots per month.

Clients who still need to meet the eligibility requirements can access the VPS by requesting it in the Members Area for a monthly fee of $28. This fee will be automatically deducted from their MT4/MT5 accounts on the first day of each month.

Another helpful feature is MT4 MultiTerminal, allowing experienced traders to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.

Yet while MetaTrader is a popular platform for forex traders, the lack of a proprietary desktop/web platform is a considerable drawback for beginner traders looking for a simplified trading experience.

Pros

  • Dependable desktop and mobile versions of MT4/5 are supported with MultiTerminal.
  • A free VPS is available if you meet deposit and volume requirements.
  • XM’s proprietary mobile app is really easy to use and supports copy trading.
  • XM AI has been a strong addition and marks the broker out against most firms without AI trading tools.

Cons

  • The lack of an in-house desktop or web platform, available at firms like IG and AvaTrade, may deter novices.
  • cTrader platform still isn’t supported despite its popularity with active traders.
  • XM’s mobile app is intuitive but it’s basic and needs more technical analysis tools for advanced day traders.

Research

4.3 / 5

XM offers a range of research tools specifically designed to assist beginner traders in enhancing their trading skills and market understanding.

One of the primary resources is the daily market analysis, which includes interesting insights into major financial markets, updates on significant economic events, and analysis of key market trends.

Additionally, XM provides excellent in-house technical and fundamental analysis reports that break down market movements, enabling beginners to understand the factors influencing price changes and potential trading opportunities and trade ideas from third-party Trading Central.

An economic calendar also helps to keep you informed about upcoming events that can cause market volatility. This is great for fast-paced strategies like day trading.

Using the economic calendar from XM
Economic Calendar

Pros

  • Daily market analysis and news updates are great for helping to identify potential trading opportunities.
  • The in-depth asset reports and research articles have particularly good coverage of the forex market.
  • The well-presented technical analysis from third-party Trading Central will appeal to short-term traders.

Cons

  • Despite the addition of the ‘Discover’ feature, the research tools could be a lot more intuitive.
  • The economic calendar lacks advanced filtering options beyond ‘countries’, ‘event type’ and ‘importance’.
  • Trading Central isn’t integrated into the app which would ensure a comprehensive trading experience.

Education

4.8 / 5

XM provides various high-quality and enjoyable educational content aimed at beginner traders to help them build their trading knowledge and skills.

These include comprehensive tutorials, articles, and videos covering fundamental trading concepts, technical analysis, risk management strategies, and platform tutorials.

XM also hosts live webinars and seminars seven days a week in 23 languages, led by 77 instructors. These sessions allow beginners to interact and learn directly from experts and cover a range of topics, from basic trading principles to advanced strategies, providing insights into market dynamics and trading techniques.

Educational content on Bullish Squeeze at XM broker
Educational Videos

New traders will further appreciate the client-exclusive webinars and podcasts led by experienced professionals, covering various trading topics, strategies, and tools, allowing beginners to learn directly from experts.

I’ve found XM’s educational content excellent overall, but it could be done with structured learning materials tailored to different skill levels.

This commitment to education would ensure novice traders have the tools and knowledge to navigate the financial markets confidently.

A glossary of terms would also get newbies up to speed on trading jargon.

Christian HarrisChristian HarrisAuthor

Pros

  • Excellent range of education including videos and now podcasts for more modern learning channels.
  • Regularly updated content and a ‘Live Education Schedule’ make for a continuous learning experience.
  • Frequent live webinars hosted by experienced traders are great for detailed market analysis and trade setups.

Cons

  • Topics are less extensive than other brokers, notably category leader IG with its dedicated academy.
  • Tutorials are helpful but need more interactive elements, with limited progress tracking and quiz elements.
  • There are no structured learning courses which would provide a more comprehensive trading journey.

Customer Support

4.9 / 5

XM offers excellent customer support with multiple options, including live chat, email, and phone (Cyprus or Australia numbers).

They’re available 24/7, so I’ve always been able to reach out during market hours, no matter my time zone. What’s great is that the support team offers multilingual support in 30 languages, which is helpful for traders from different parts of the world.

I’ve used their live chat a few times when I needed quick assistance. Once, I was having trouble understanding the differences between accounts, so I jumped on live chat. Within a few minutes, the representative answered my questions.

Speaking to XM broker on live chat
Live chat

I’ve also used their email support for more complex questions. When I wanted to swap leverage, I sent them an email. Although it took a few hours to get a response, the reply I received was detailed, with step-by-step instructions that made the process easy to follow.

I’ve found XM’s customer support responsive, helpful, and professional. No matter the issue, they’ve always ensured I get the assistance I need, making trading with them a smoother experience.

My only criticism is that there needs to be a localized direct telephone line or a call-back feature, a service offered by ActivTrades.

Christian HarrisChristian HarrisAuthor

Pros

  • 24/7 worldwide customer support makes XM ideal for global traders with fast response times during testing.
  • Multilingual support in 30 languages beats out almost every competitor.
  • There is a helpful FAQ section on its website for basic enquiries.

Cons

  • While reliable during market hours, live chat is unavailable during non-peak hours.
  • A glossary of terms could save beginners from having to contact and wait for a customer support agent.
  • Not all representatives may be fluent language speakers potentially resulting in a frustrating user experience.

Should You Day Trade With XM?

XM broker offers a suitable trading environment for both novice and experienced day traders. Its support for MT4/5 platforms, competitive fees, comprehensive educational resources, and reliable customer support cater to a wide range of trading needs.

XM’s commitment to transparency and security, coupled with its diverse instruments and flexible account options, makes it an attractive choice for active traders, with the Zero account and its spreads from 0.0 pips the stand-out option.

Yet while XM provides a strong foundation for trading, it’s worth noting that it currently lacks features like investing in real assets, especially cryptocurrencies, and the lack of an in-house desktop or web platform marks it out against competitors like IG and AvaTrade.

FAQ

Is XM Legit Or A Scam?

Whilst no broker is ever fully ‘safe’, XM did score over 4 out of 5 for Regulation & Trust in our XM.com review.

This is because it’s well-established (it launched in 2009), it has a large client base (20+ million users), and it’s regulated by several respected bodies, one of which we consider a ‘green tier’ regulator (CySEC in Cyprus).

Having said that, it’s important to check which XM entity you will hold your funds with when you sign up. For example, if you trade through its offshore entities (e.g. authorized by the FSC Belize or FSA Seychelles) you may not receive the same level of regulatory protections, such as limits on leverage and access to compensation in the event the broker becomes insolvent.

Is XM A Regulated Broker?

XM is a reputable broker regulated by leading financial authorities, including CySEC. By safeguarding client funds and offering negative balance protection in specific jurisdictions, XM prioritizes a secure trading environment, establishing itself as a trustworthy and reliable choice for traders.

However, it’s worth noting its offshore operations work with limited regulatory oversight via less reputed bodies like the FSC in Belize and FSA in Seychelles.

Is XM Suitable For Beginners?

XM caters to new traders with features like low minimum deposits (starting at $5 for certain accounts) and demo accounts for risk-free practice.

XM also offers a comprehensive suite of educational resources, including tutorials, webinars, and seminars, to guide beginners through the fundamentals of trading, market analysis, and risk management.

Yet while XM provides a range of features for beginners, it’s worth noting that it lacks a proprietary trading platform explicitly designed for novice traders.

Does XM Offer Low Fees?

XM’s fees are reasonable but can be bettered at brokers like IC Markets and Fusion Markets. Most account types offer commission-free trading, with generally tight spreads, particularly on popular instruments like major forex pairs.

For day traders seeking even lower spreads, the XM Zero account provides spreads starting from 0.0 pips with a small commission per trade.

Best alternatives to XM

The highest rated brokers that are most similar to XM in Yemen are AvaTrade and IC. Here is an overview of what makes them great options:

  1. 1
    AvaTrade
    4.9 / 5

Established in 2006, AvaTrade is a leading forex and CFD broker trusted by over 400,000 traders. Operating under regulation in 9 jurisdictions, AvaTrade processes an impressive 2+ million trades each month. Through like MT4, MT5, and its proprietary WebTrader, the broker provides a growing selection of 1,250+ instruments. Whether it’s CFDs, AvaOptions, or the more recent AvaFutures, short-term traders at all levels will find opportunities. With terrific education and 24/5 multilingual customer support, AvaTrade delivers the complete trading experience.

  2. 2
    IC
    4.8 / 5

IC Markets (now IC) is a globally recognized forex and CFD broker known for its excellent pricing, comprehensive range of trading instruments, and premium trading technology. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Australia, the brokerage is regulated by the ASIC, CySEC and FSA, and has attracted more than 200,000 clients from over 200 countries.

I’m testing this broker, and well, it works well. spreads are ok, for some its good (gold and BTC are great, honestly). eecution hasn’t failed me yet. Is it the best? idk, I havent tested many others. but it works for me, dont see a reason to switch, they didnt give me one so far.

XM offers decent selection of account, not many but very effective for all trading styles i would say. Also, execution speed is quite good and perfect for scalping too
