Pros
- IC secured DayTrading.com's 'Best MT4/MT5 Broker' in 2025 for its seamless, industry-leading MetaTrader integration, refined over years to maximize the platform experience.
- As a tightly regulated and widely respected broker, IC prioritizes client security and transparency, helping to ensure a reliable trading experience globally.
- You have access to over 2,250 CFDs across various markets, including forex, commodities, indices, stocks, bonds, and cryptocurrencies, allowing for diversified trading strategies.
Cons
- While IC offers a selection of metals and cryptos for trading via CFDs, the range is not as extensive as brokers like eToro, limiting opportunities for traders interested in these asset classes.
- The breadth and depth of tutorials, webinars and educational resources still need work, trailing alternatives like CMC Markets and reducing its suitability for beginners.
- There are fees for certain withdrawal methods, including a $20 wire charge, which can eat into profits, especially for frequent withdrawals.
Why Use FXGT To Trade With Higher Leverage?
FXGT, especially with its Optimus account, targets day traders seeking extremely high leverage of up to 1:5000, offering the potential for amplified profits and losses, though at the cost of robust regulatory protections.

Pros
- FXGT stands out after introducing access to over 30 popular cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc. This is advantageous for traders interested in diversifying into digital assets and provides an additional market to explore beyond traditional forex and stocks.
- FXGT supports multiple platforms, including MT4, MT5, and its proprietary FXGT Trader, added in 2024, catering to different trading styles, such as MetaTrader's automated trading with Expert Advisors (EAs).
- Five account types are available to suit different trading needs, including accounts for beginner and advanced traders, plus the Optimus account, which was built for day traders and now offers the highest leverage we've seen up to 1:5000 (amplifying profit and loss).
Cons
- While FXGT offers some research, such as its market analysis section and an economic calendar, they are not as extensive as those provided by brokers like IG. Traders looking for detailed analysis, in-depth reports, or third-party research will find FXGT's resources woeful.
- FXGT offers a subpar selection of around 185 assets, which is limited compared to category-leading brokers like Saxo with its 72,000+ instruments. In particular, FXGT does not provide access to a wide range of stocks from international markets.
- FXGT is regulated by regional authorities like the Seychelles FSA and South Africa’s FSCA for retail clients, but still does not hold licenses from top ‘green tier’ regulators such as the UK’s FCA or Australia’s ASIC. This means that traders may not benefit from the higher investor protections, stringent oversight, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
Why Use M4Markets To Trade With Higher Leverage?

Cons
- The educational resources trail the best brokers with only a small selection of eBooks and webinars offered
- The range of around 200 investments is slim compared to top brokers, who typically offer over 1000
Why Use OnFin To Trade With Higher Leverage?

Pros
- The MT5 sign-up process has been streamlined, now taking less time and fewer documents to register and connect to the OnFin trading environment in the Metaquotes software.
- OnFin’s dedicated copy trading platform lets you follow multiple strategies at once, compare their profitability, and fine-tune how much capital is allocated to each. While not as advanced as eToro, it still offers a useful social trading layer for hands-off traders.
- With ultra-high leverage up to 1:3000 and raw spreads from 0.0 pips on ECN accounts, OnFin delivers competitive trading conditions tailored for scalpers and intraday traders.
Cons
- OnFin’s educational content is mostly limited to a basic blog with a few generic articles and some guides. There are no webinars or interactive tools - making it less suitable for those who need structured learning, though it did start rolling out tutorials and strategy guides for beginners in 2026.
- At sign-up, we were only asked to choose MT4 or MT5, with no explanation of the four account types (ECN, Standard, Mini, Fix) or how they differ. We had to dig through support pages post-registration to understand our options - a frustrating experience, especially for beginners.
- Licensed by MISA in Mohéli, Comoros, OnFin lacks oversight from major regulators. There are no guarantees on client fund safety, no compensation schemes, and no formal recourse if something goes wrong.

- The trading firm has picked up over 90 awards and amassed more than 27 million clients, making it one of the largest and most established brokers globally.
- FBS strikes the balance between robust features and ease of use, with a sign-up process taking <10 minutes, an intuitive app, advanced research through Market Analytics & more recently VIP Analytics, plus immersive education through the FBS Academy and Trader’s Blog.
Cons
- There are only four base currencies available - EUR, USD, AUD and JPY (region dependant) - which isn't practical for minimizing currency conversion fees for many global traders, and is especially striking given the broker’s user base spans over 150 nations.
- Although the FBS app offers a terrific mobile trading experience for aspiring traders and MT4/MT5 cater to advanced traders, the absence of cTrader and TradingView, which are increasingly offered by alternatives like Pepperstone, will deter day traders familiar with these platforms.
- Despite enhancing the selection of currency pairs, now providing over 70, FBS still trails industry leaders like BlackBull Markets in its market offering with a particularly narrow selection of commodities and indices.

How Did DayTrading.com Rank The Top Brokers For High Leverage?
We investigated and recorded the maximum leverage available at every broker in our evolving database, which includes 143 providers as of October 2026.
From there, we ranked them by the highest leverage while also considering overall broker quality, using a mix of:
- Hard Data: Over 200 metrics, including maximum leverage, pricing, execution, and regulation.
- Real Testing Insights: Hands-on testing by our experienced traders and industry experts, evaluating platform usability, reliability, and trading conditions.

What Is High Leverage?
Higher leverage allows you to control much larger trades with a small deposit, multiplying both profits and risks. This makes it popular with day traders looking to grow their accounts.
Based on our analysis of 143 trading platforms, we consider anything above 1:500, or 500x, as ‘high’ leverage, with some brokers offering 1:1000 or more. There are even brokers with unlimited leverage.
Here’s how it works:
If you deposit $100 and your broker offers 1:1000 leverage, you can control $100,000 in trading capital.
- If you buy $100,000 worth of gold and its price rises by 1%, your profit is $1,000.
- Without leverage, the same 1% price move on a $100 trade would yield just $1 in profit.
What Are The Rules On Trading With High Leverage?
Since high-leverage trading carries significant risk, financial regulators impose leverage limits on online brokers to protect retail traders. However, these restrictions vary by region and asset class, meaning leverage caps differ depending on where a brokerage is based.
Leverage Limits By Major Regulators
Many ‘green tier’ bodies in DayTrading.com’s Regulation & Trust Rating, such as ASIC (Australia), CySEC (Europe), and the FCA (UK), impose strict limits on leveraged CFD trading for retail traders, with the typical maximum 1:30.
Meanwhile, the CFTC and SEC in the US impose even stricter rules, banning leveraged CFD trading for American retail traders. US traders can generally access up to 1:50 for major forex pairs.
Some well-known regulators are also clamping down on the leverage trading conditions brokers can offer to retail investors. For instance, rules from the CySEC, introduced in 2025, enforce 1:10 leverage limits (a 10% notional value cap) on specific less-liquid CFDs, including certain agricultural commodities, industrial metals, and regional stock indices. The intention of the rules was to protect retail investors by reducing the leverage limits available to high-leverage seekers while operating under European oversight.
Retail Vs Professional Leverage
The limits above only apply to retail traders. Professional trading accounts – available to those who meet high financial and experience requirements – can access much greater leverage, often up to 1:500.
To qualify as a professional, you must meet stringent criteria, such as proving a high trading volume, industry experience, or holding significant financial assets.
High-Leverage Offshore Brokers = Higher Risk
Many brokers advertising leverage above 1:500 or even 1:1000 are often weakly regulated offshore entities. These providers may operate under lax oversight, exposing traders to:
- Higher counterparty risk: Fewer investor protections in case of fraud or bankruptcy
- No negative balance protection: Potential for losses exceeding deposits
- Weaker legal recourse: Limited ability to recover funds in disputes
FAQ
What Is The Highest Leverage Available At Forex Brokers?
Based on our latest research, the maximum leverage you can trade forex with is 1:3000 on some platforms, though we don’t recommend these firms. Instead, stick to our recommended brokers that still offer very high leverage that can hit 1:1000.

Is Trading With High Leverage Safe?
No. Trading with high leverage is extremely high risk as both profit and loss are multiplied.
Our investigations also reveal that most of the highest-leverage trading platforms operate offshore in weakly regulated jurisdictions, raising further safety concerns. Some of these brokers don’t offer key protections, such as negative balance protection, which should prevent your account from falling below zero.
