Pros

  • There’s support for a range of industry-leading charting platforms including MT4, MT5, TradingView, and cTrader, catering to various short-term trading styles, including algo trading.
  • After adding spread betting through TradingView, Pepperstone provides a seamless, tax-efficient trading experience with advanced analysis tools for financial spread bettors in supported countries.
  • Pepperstone has greatly improved the deposit and withdrawal experience in recent years, adding Apple Pay and Google Pay in 2025, as well as PIX and SPEI for clients in Brazil and Mexico in 2024.

Cons

  • Execution may not feel as reliable in fast markets as headline speeds suggest. In our own testing, execution was fast at desired prices, but some community complaints focus on slippage, stop-loss fills and spread-sensitive order triggers during volatile conditions.
  • Despite improvements to its range of markets, crypto CFD offerings are still fairly limited compared to other brokers who focus on this area, such as Eightcap, and there's no option to invest in real coins.
  • Overnight holding fees are higher than that found with some Market Maker brokers (usually Benchmark + 2.5%). This makes pepperstone an ideal broker for day traders and forex scalpers but less suitable for swing traders who often keep position open overnight.

IC

IC (formerly IC Markets) offers superior pricing, exceptionally fast execution and seamless deposits. The introduction of advanced charting platforms, notably TradingView, and the Raw Trader Plus account, ensures it remains a top choice for intermediate to advanced day traders.

  • You have access to over 2,250 CFDs across various markets, including forex, commodities, indices, stocks, bonds, and cryptocurrencies, allowing for diversified trading strategies.
  • IC offers among the tightest spreads in the industry, with 0.0-pip spreads on major currency pairs, making it especially cost-effective for day traders.

Cons

  • The breadth and depth of tutorials, webinars and educational resources still need work, trailing alternatives like CMC Markets and reducing its suitability for beginners.
  • Despite four industry-leading third-party platforms, there is no proprietary software or trading app built with new traders in mind.
  • There are fees for certain withdrawal methods, including a $20 wire charge, which can eat into profits, especially for frequent withdrawals.

Eightcap

Eightcap delivers in every area for day traders with a growing selection of charting platforms, education via Labs, and AI-powered tools. Now sporting 120+ crypto CFDs, it's also become a stand-out choice for crypto trading, winning our 'Best Crypto Broker' award two years in a row.

Pros

  • Having excelled across all key areas for day traders, Eightcap outperformed every competitor to win our 'Best Overall Broker' award for 2024, also securing our 'Best Crypto Broker' title for 2025 and 'Best TradingView Broker' for 2025.
  • Eightcap stands out with a selection of powerful trading tools and resources, including MT4 and MT5, and more recently the 100-million strong social trading network TradingView.
  • Eightcap Challenges, the broker's prop trading firm, is multi-regulated, removing the third-party risks we commonly see with white-label prop firms, and its tailoring its funded accounts to crypto traders with around 150 crypto pairs, plus it's integrated into the TradingView interface.

Cons

  • Despite a useful library of educational guides and e-books in Labs, Eightcap still trails IG’s comprehensive toolkit for aspiring traders with its dedicated IG Academy app and 18 course categories.
  • The demo account expires after 30 days and can only be extended upon request - a notable inconvenience compared to the likes of XM with its unlimited demo mode.
  • Eightcap needs to continue bolstering its suite of 800+ instruments to match category leaders like Blackbull Markets with its 26,000+ assets, featuring a particularly weak selection of commodities.

Fusion Markets

Fusion Markets is a standout option for forex traders looking for excellent pricing with spreads near zero, industry-low commissions and recently TradingView integration. It’s a particularly good broker for Australian traders where the company is headquartered and regulated by the ASIC.

  • The range of charting platforms and social trading features is excellent, with MT4, MT5, cTrader and more recently TradingView, catering to a wide range of trader preferences.

Cons

  • The demo account expires after 30 days, limiting its potential as a useful trading tool alongside a real-money account.
  • There is no proprietary trading platform or app built with beginners in mind, a notable drawback compared to AvaTrade.
  • Fusion Market trails alternatives, notably IG, in the education department with limited guides and live video sessions to upskill new traders.

BlackBull

After improving its trading infrastructure with Equinix servers in London, reducing latency for traders, BlackBull is an obvious choice if you want to day trade stock CFDs with ECN pricing. With competitive spreads and no commission on a growing roster of digital tokens paired with USD, BlackBull also works for active crypto traders.

Pros

  • After partnering with ZuluTrade and Myfxbook, alongside improvements to its own CopyTrader, and finally enabling cTrader Copy, BlackBull offers one of the most comprehensive copy trading experiences we've seen.
  • BlackBulls’s research is superb, especially the daily ‘Trading Opportunities’ articles that break down complex market movements into easy-to-understand insights, making it simpler to capitalize on emerging trends.
  • BlackBull offers every ingredient for day traders; fast execution speeds of <100ms and tight spreads from 0.0 pips.

Cons

  • Although the Education Hub now features improvements like webinars and tutorials, the courses we’ve explored need more focus on explaining the wider economic factors influencing prices.
  • Unlike most top brokers, BlackBull charges an irritating $5 withdrawal fee, which can detract from the overall cost-effectiveness, especially for active traders who frequently move funds.
  • Despite a growing selection of 2,180+ assets, including additions to its Asia Pacific indices, they are mainly stocks with an average selection of currency pairs and indices.

Vantage

Vantage remains an excellent option for CFD traders seeking a tightly-regulated broker with access to the reliable MetaTrader platforms. The fast sign-up process and $50 minimum deposit make it very straightforward to start day trading quickly.

How Did We Choose The Best SGD Brokers?

To find the best SGD brokers, we:

  • Leveraged our database of 143 brokers
  • Made a shortlist of brokers that support accounts in Singapore dollars
  • Ranked them by examining more than 100 data points during exhaustive first-hand tests

What Is An SGD Account?

An SGD account is simply a trading account that uses Singapore dollars as the base currency.

Your deposits and withdrawals will be processed into SGD, and this is the currency that will be used when you open day trades and exit positions.

You can usually select SGD as an account currency when you open an account with a supporting broker. I opened an SGD account with IC Markets as you can see in the image below:

IC Markets SGD account
Signing up for IC Markets’ SGD account

Do I Need An SGD Account?

You may want an account with SGD as a base currency for several reasons:

  • If you live in Singapore and SGD is the main currency you earn and use, an SGD account is usually the most cost-effective as it cuts conversion fees.
  • If you regularly trade stocks listed in Singapore like Wilmar International or Oversea-Chinese Bank, then it makes sense to fund your account with SGD since this is the currency used on this exchange.
  • If you are looking to trade in various currencies for hedging purposes, SGD is a good bet as a relatively stable currency whose rate is loosely determined by a basket of other currencies.

How Can I Check If A Broker Offers An Account In Singapore Dollars?

We list the accepted account currencies of every broker we review, so you can quickly find brokers with SGD accounts here. Alternatively, follow these easy steps to check for yourself:

  1. Go to the broker’s website and navigate to the ‘account options’ setting.
  2. Find the scroll-down tab or list of accepted currencies and scroll down until you find SGD.
  3. Select SGD as the account currency when you open a live trading account.

Pros & Cons Of SGD Trading Accounts

Pros

  • SGD accounts eliminate currency conversion fees if you have Singapore dollars and want to trade instruments on the Singapore Exchange.
  • Traders based in Singapore will usually find it more convenient to fund and manage their trading account in their day-to-day currency.
  • The Singapore dollar is considered among the world’s strongest and most stable, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) allows it to float within the range defined by a basket of other currencies. This makes it a relatively secure currency to store funds in.
  • If you file taxes in Singapore, maintaining an SGD account may streamline the reporting process as it may reduce the need to factor in various foreign exchange rate changes and fluctuations.

Cons

  • Although SGD is quite popular and is supported by some top brokers, it is not as widely available as currencies like USD, EUR and GBP so you will have fewer day trading platforms to choose between.
  • The ‘soft peg’ applied to SGD means it is unlikely to significantly appreciate in value against the USD or other major currencies.
  • Stocks from the Singapore Exchange are not offered by most brokers, so you may have a relatively limited choice if that’s what you want to day trade.

FAQ

What Is The Best Broker With An SGD Account?

We’ve comprehensively reviewed the brokers that accept SGD accounts. Check our list to find the right platform for your needs.

How Much Does It Cost To Open A Trading Account Based In Singapore Dollars?

The amount you need to spend to open an SGD base account will depend on the broker. Of the hundreds of brokers we’ve tested, we’ve found that this amount is rarely higher than the 200 USD (or SGD equivalent) minimum required by IC Markets.

However, note that many SGD brokers accept traders for considerably less than this. IG, for example, doesn’t require any minimum deposit to sign up, and you can register with XM with an initial deposit of just $5 (or SGD equivalent).
