Michael MacKenzie

Michael MacKenzie

Michael is a writer and editor with a decade of experience working in journalism, publishing and copywriting.

Michael specializes in copy-editing and fact-checking content on retail finance, including broker reviews. His goal is to deliver accurate, fact-rich and readable content to help retail traders choose brokers that offer safe and reliable services with good value.

Michael graduated with degrees in languages and international relations and worked for five years reporting on the politics and economy of Turkey and the Middle East before turning full-time to writing and copy-editing.

As an intermediate member of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, he also edits books for international publishers including Lonely Planet.

When he’s not writing or editing, Michael can often be found exploring hidden gems of his home city of Glasgow or further afield in Scotland. On a rainy day he’ll be at home cooking elaborate recipes, playing chess, or working through his massive to-be-read pile.

Michael’s personal portfolio includes mainly index tracker funds, with some individual stocks that he follows closely in the entertainment, space and services sectors. He prefers to make short-term trades based on earnings calls and other news events, or to make swing trades on commodities and stocks based on his analysis of longer-term global trends.
