Comparison Of No Deposit Trading Bonus Offers
Compare how much bonus credit you get, key terms and stipulations, who they suit, and whether these forex brokers offer an account based in Indonesian rupiah (IDR):
| Broker | No Deposit Bonus | Key Terms | Bonus Suits | IDR Account |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Capital | $500 No Deposit Bonus | The no deposit bonus itself cannot be withdrawn, but profits generated from the bonus can at a formula of 5 USD per 1 lot. With the no deposit bonus only available for 7 days, this means a high volume of large FX trades need to be completed, requiring careful risk management to prevent overtrading. | The no deposit bonus suits traders wanting to test short-term setups on Grand Capital's 50+ major, minor and exotic forex pairs, plus prospective clients who want to explore the broker's proprietary web-accessible platform. However, the high turnover requirements and short time period make withdrawing profits generated from bonus funds impractical for most retail traders. | - |
| InstaForex | $3,500 No Deposit Bonus | StartUp no deposit bonus doesn't require account verification but it does require a deposit before you can withdraw any profit. If a deposit isn’t made within 7 days, it converts to a demo account and any profits become paper money. When you make a deposit, the no deposit credit is converted to a match bonus with steep volume requirements of 3 InstaForex lots for each $1 of profit. | No deposit bonus is suitable for testing trading strategies, especially in forex, and for trialling the InstaForex platform, but it's not a viable option if you want a shot at withdrawing gains due to the high wagering stipulations. | - |
Methodology
- We looked at over 75 prominent brokers that cater to a range of different traders and offered a trading bonus that did not require the trader to make a deposit to access the free trading credit.
- For those that did, we confirmed they were available to residents in Indonesia by asking their customer support team directly and/or signing up for the bonus using an IP address in Jakarta. A lot of no deposit trading bonuses were removed at this stage.
- We read every word of each deal’s terms and conditions and summarised the key rules, especially around withdrawing, which we’ve included in the comparison table above.
- We considered for which types of forex traders the no deposit bonus is best suited to and those it isn’t, and explained that in the comparison table above. We also indicated whether the broker offers an IDR-based trading account.
How Do I Claim A No Deposit Bonus?
The exact process varies depending on the brokerage, but having claimed many no-deposit bonuses ourselves over the years for testing purposes, there are typically several steps:
- Check the bonus offer: This either takes place on a specific landing page, as you can see for Grand Capital below, or you can find it in the client area, with brokers typically showing their promotions in banners or under a ‘Promo’ or similar tab. You normally need to provide basic contact details even if you don’t need to deposit, e.g. you almost always have to provide a name, email, and telephone number.
- Opt in: Read the bonus terms and conditions carefully. Check whether you can withdraw the bonus credit yourself (you normally can’t), whether you can withdraw gains generated from the bonus (you often can but you typically need to trade many multiples of the credit or a certain number of FX lots), whether you’re restricted to trading on certain assets (e.g. currency pairs and metals like gold), and whether the bonus is only available for a set period (e.g. 7 days). If you’re comfortable, you normally need to tick to say you’ve read and accept the bonus conditions, as you can see we did below.
- Receive your access details: At some forex brokers, you’re granted access to a specific bonus account with a username and password, as you can see we received below for Grand Capital. At other providers, your standard login details will work – just your account will be credited with the bonus funds.
- Open the platform and trade: Log in to the online trading platform, which could be a proprietary terminal like Grand Capital’s below, or a well-known third-party software like MT4 or MT5. You can now trade forex in Indonesia using the credit. Just remember still to practice sensible risk management, e.g. through stop-loss orders. Treat it as real money and trade with discipline, especially if you’re using a fast-paced strategy like day trading, which is popular with some Indonesians.

Are No Deposit Forex Bonuses Allowed In Indonesia?
Neither the Financial Services Authority of Indonesia (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK)) nor the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti), has laws that expressly ban no-deposit online trading bonuses.
However, consumer protection laws (notably OJK regulations and Law No. 8 of 1999) do limit how they can be advertised. Bonus providers should not guarantee profits, nor should marketing hide wagering requirements or the risks of trading with leveraged derivatives, such as CFDs. Ultimately, financial services businesses, including forex brokers, must provide clear and not misleading information.
The other important consideration for retail investors is that brokerages accepting Indonesian residents should be licensed domestically, and the Bappebti has a history of blocking international providers, with many forex brokers featuring in a 2025 blocking effort, such as Forex4You and Trust Capital.
So if you do sign up and start using a no deposit bonus, there’s technically a chance Indonesian regulators could block the website, and you lose access to the credit and any gains you may have generated.
It’s also worth keeping in mind that by using an overseas, unlicensed broker, you may not get any local Indonesian regulatory protections in the event of disputes, which aren’t uncommon as some traders who haven’t read the bonus terms carefully run into problems when they try and withdraw bonus profits, or when some unscrupulous providers refuse to pay out citing vague ‘bonus abuse’ clauses.
