Trading Calculators

Trading requires making informed decisions. Our free trading calculators help you work out key parameters, including position size, pip value, margin, profit and loss, key price levels, and crucially, what a broker will really cost you, in your chosen account currency with daily exchange rates.

Why Use A Trading Calculator?

We see some short-term retail traders, beginners especially, focus on a particular market or strategy, without fully understanding whether they’re trading too big, whether a move is worth shooting for, and how much costs will erode their profits. Our calculators, which take seconds to use, help remove the guesswork.

  • Control your risk: The position size calculator tells you exactly how large a trade can be so that hitting your stop loss costs only the amount you chose.
  • Understand what you are trading: The pip value and margin calculators show what each price move is worth and how much of your account a trade ties up.
  • Plan entries and exits: The pivot point and Fibonacci calculators give you the price levels many active traders watch.
  • Judge a strategy honestly: The profit and loss and drawdown calculators show the risk–reward of a trade and how a run of losses could affect your account.
  • Keep costs down: The trading cost, currency conversion, and budget calculators compare the brokers available in your country using the spreads and minimum deposits we record in our hands-on broker tests. For day traders, in particular, who often make a large volume of trades, having a handle on costs is key.

How Our Calculators Work

All of DayTrading.com’s trading calculators update in real-time as you type – there’s no need to press a button. Results will be shown in the currency you pick, and the account currency is set to your local currency where possible.

Currency conversions use the European Central Bank’s daily reference rates, and you can type in your own price where a live price matters.

The broker comparisons only include brokers that accept traders from your country. Variable spreads change in response to market conditions, so use the results as a guide and check the latest figures.
