Comment by Reviewer
"After spending some time exploring the accounts, I think TIO Markets is best suited to experienced traders who can deposit at least $1000 to take advantage of the competitive trading conditions available with the VIP accounts. Nonetheless, it would be nice to see a more diverse range of assets on offer in my opinion." "Based on my evaluations, TrioMarkets is suitable for experienced traders looking for zero-commissions, PAMM accounts or reliable VPS services. That said, I'm not a huge fan of the small asset line-up, the offshore licensing, and the lack of educational resources."
Pros
  • I have found fees to be pretty competitive with TIO Markets, averaging as low as 0.2 pips for GBP/USD on the VIP account
  • The company's 24/7 customer service availability is in line with some of the top brokerages that I have reviewed
  • Another major advantage for me is the free access to Trading Central, an excellent charting and analysis tool
  • TIO Markets offers access to the powerful MT4 and MT5 platforms with market-leading analysis tools
  • UK clients will be happy to find that spread betting opportunities are supported by TIO Markets
  • I'm also pleased to see top-tier FCA regulation through the company's UK branch
  • I feel reassured that clients can access the trusted MetaTrader 4 platform, which is accessible via desktop, web and mobile applications
  • It's good to see that the broker offers a VPS, social trading, PAMM/MAM accounts and FXI API trading tools designed to enhance the overall experience
  • I like that there's a choice of four account types with access to all instruments and competitive pricing
  • I'm a fan of the true ECN execution model with no rejections or dealing desk intervention
Cons
  • Most traders will be registering with the global branch, which is regulated offshore and will not offer any robust fund safeguarding measures
  • Leverage rates with the UK branch are limited to a maximum of 1:30, which may feel restricting for experienced traders
  • Compared to major competitors, TIO Markets' educational resources are notably limited
  • I'm disappointed by the small product line-up of only 130+ instruments - much less than most brokers I review
  • It's a shame that the broker only offers the MetaTrader 4 trading terminal, with no bespoke software or alternative options
  • I'm a little hesitant that the global entity is regulated offshore by the Financial Services Commission (Mauritius)
  • I'm not thrilled that withdrawal fees apply for some payment methods
  • There is limited educational content available and I also noticed that much of the market news is outdated

CFD Trading
Unfortunately, I do feel that the broker's mediocre range of 300 CFDs will be quite restricting for most traders. It certainly doesn't compare to many other brands I review. Plus, the absence of crypto, ETF and soft commodity CFDs is a further setback. TrioMarkets offers a poor total selection of 130+ CFDs on the MT4 terminal. The Basic Account offers commission-free trading with average spreads of 2.4 pips, which is not very competitive compared to alternatives.

Forex Trading
My tests uncovered an average selection of 46 forex pairs, including major, minor and exotic currency combinations. That said, access to both the MT4 and MT5 platforms is a major bonus for forex strategists looking for market-leading software. My tests found a decent range of 60+ major, minor and exotic currency pairs including EUR/USD and USD/JPY on the MT4 terminal. You can benefit from no dealing desk intervention and leverage up to 1:500.

Crypto trading not offered There are only 4 popular crypto CFDs available; BTC, ETH, LTC and XRP with 1:2 leverage. This is definitely one of the smallest ranges of cryptos I have seen so I think dedicated crypto traders may want to consider other options.
