CFD Trading
Investous offers leveraged CFDs so traders can bet on rising and falling prices with a small cash deposit.
Crypto Trading
Investous offer crypto trading with some of the smallest spreads available, across all major cryptocurrencies.
Investous is a multi-asset CFD trading broker offering 300+ instruments across four asset classes. This includes Forex, Indices, Stocks and Commodities. With its user-friendly WebTrader platform, trading online was made straightforward. This review will cover login security, how to open and close an account, minimum deposit requirements, fees and more.
Investous Details
Investous is owned and operated by IOS Investments Limited, who are located at 5 Cork Street, Belize City, Belize. The firm is also now regulated (and licensed) by the International Financial Services Commission of Belize.
Having previously been regulated in Europe via CySec, the move to licensing in Belize is seen as unsettling for traders.
Trading Platform
Investous offers a choice of trading platforms packed with features. The web-based WebTrader platform is user-friendly, and the MT4 platform allows for seamless mobile trading, offering users the ability to quickly and concisely make trades in real-time.
Each of these platforms comes with important metrics, tips and advice to help traders make an informed decision. The webtrader platform shown below illustrates some of the features offered by the platform. ‘Close at profit‘ and ‘Close at loss‘ tick boxes offer additional risk management options. These are effectively ‘Stop Loss’ and ‘Take Profit’ levels.
The active spread is shown between the buy and sell levels, offering traders the ability to strike a trade on the most favourable terms. Traders can also track their overall exposure before opening a trade, as the overall value of a new trade is shown in the asset bar at the top of the trading area.
The chart offers several technical indicators and tools, as well as the ability to switch between timeframes to confirm momentum or patterns.
Assets
A wide array of different assets and markets are on offer for traders at Investous. Users can pick and choose from over 250 different financial instruments across a variety of classes. Whether it’s FX trading, CFD trading, stocks, commodities or indices, everything is on offer at Investous.
Fees
The benchmark EUR/USD spread floats at approximately 2.5 pips. Withdrawal fees apply at 3.5% for credit and debit cards, and a 10 EUR maintenance fee is applicable regardless of whether any transactions or trading activity takes place. While other brokers offer comparatively better spreads, Investous does not charge commission on trades.
Leverage
The maximum leverage permitted on forex transactions with Investous is 1:30. This applies across all account levels, in line with the latest ESNA (European Securities & Market Authority) regulations.
Mobile Apps
Investous has a mobile trading app which is available for iPhone and Android. It is available to download from the iTunes store and Google Play store, and is about as advanced as a mobile trading app can get. It provides users with the majority of the features available on the web-based platform, including mobile charting, account administration, live chat and one-click trading. With an easy-to-use intuitive interface and high functionality, the Investous MT4 app makes trading on the move as simple as can be.
Payment Methods
Users are offered a variety of ways in which to fund their Investous account. Credit cards, debit cards, Skrill and wire transfers are available. Credit and debit card deposits are processed almost instantly, although wire transfers could take 2-3 days before funds appear on the account. Withdrawal processing times can also take 2-3 days, and in some cases could take up to five working days. A withdrawal fee of 3.5% applies to credit cards.
Demo Account
Investous offers a free demo account which allows users to trade with $100,000 of virtual currency without any risk. Demo users have access to the same functionality and prices as live accounts. The Investous demo account is a worthwhile way for new traders to practise, and allows experienced traders to try out the Investous platform to figure out whether it works for them. Users need only supply a name and email address to sign up for a demo account.
Deals And Promotions
In addition to competitive spreads, Investous also features an Education Centre which is designed to help improve the trading strategies of newcomers and experienced traders alike. Users have the opportunity to mirror the techniques of professional traders and gain advice, hints and tips.
Regulation & Licensing
Investous is now regulated by the IFSC in Belize, which is a disappointing change from their previous CySec protection. This makes them less attractive to European traders especially.
Additional Features
There are a number of features which help Investous to stand out, such as the Economic Calendar. This serves as a timeline of all the important economic news in real-time. It helps users to keep an eye on any potential events which could create severe market volatility. This puts the user in a position to capitalise on market changes by predicting the outcome of particular news events. Elsewhere, a live chat feature is useful for discussing trading ideas with the professionals.
Account Types
Investous offers four different account types: Basic, Silver, Gold and Platinum. With a basic account, a minimum deposit of $250 is required, and spreads of 2.4 pips apply. From Silver and upwards, maintenance fees are waived, and users gain access to a series of higher-level educational tools. Gold and Platinum users can enjoy free withdrawals, and Platinum users have access to minimal spreads.
Professional Accounts
Investous also offer professional accounts. These remove the ESMA restrictions, so accounts can enjoy higher leverage (1:200) but also lose negative balance protection. Certain criteria must be met for traders to prove their experience and capital at their disposal in order to open a professional account.
Benefits
Investous is fully regulated and deposits are protected, offering users complete peace of mind. In addition to this, the platform provides users with powerful software in both WebTrader and MT4 mobile trading app form. With high functionality, the apps allow for one-click trading on the move, which means users can make the most of any opportunities they spot.
Drawbacks
Spreads charged on crypto pairs can be quite high. Furthermore, a withdrawal fee of 3.5% for basic users is not something most would expect from a large broker. The broker is also relatively new, which means there isn’t much in the way of previous experience to draw conclusions from.
Trading Hours
Although Investous is a 24/7 platform, it’s worth noting that equities markets are impacted by market trading hours – if an exchange in a particular area is closed for the day, the user won’t be able to trade in that area at that given time.
Contact Details / Customer Support
Investous customer support can be reached by telephone on +357 2526 2513, or via email at info@investous.com. Users can also reach customer service representatives by using an online form/ticket support system on the Investous website.
Safety & Security
Investous regularly updates its apps to prevent potential security breaches, and all user data is encrypted. It’s therefore considered a safe, secure platform.
Investous Verdict
In summary, Investous seems to be a worthwhile broker to consider. It’s fully regulated, and there’s some impressive technology on display which could help traders to get the upper hand. It has reasonably good asset coverage and is certainly worth checking out in demo form at the very least.
