Is AI gonna take over day trading or will human instincts and experience always have a spot at the table? I’m seeing so much stuff man about how all these jobs are going to be taken over by AI and how our kids won’t work and all the rest of it. It’s got me wondering whether AI will take over all short term trading activities.

      Thoughts, comments and observations welcomed!

I mean AI already plays a big role. Just look at HFT. But I think it’s like other jobs and industries, AI will continue to play more of a part as a valuable enabler but there will always be a human element and role, especially when it comes to emotional trading decisions.

Do you think though? Which parts are still being done by a human then?

AI can already scan thousands of charts for TA, they can take care of the execution side of things, and I know AI can even automate stop-loss adjustments based on live market conditions.

Will us humans just be bystanders – watching, making the odd tweak (which is probably when the setup won’t come off lol).

Yeah, AI’s already doing a lot. But I still think there’s a space for the human side, especially in the messier parts of trading.

Like AI’s great at patterns and logic, but it’s not quite there when it comes to interpreting macro context or reacting to unexpected news in real time. And then there’s the whole side of trading that’s more narrative-driven – shifts in sentiment, reading between the lines of market mood – stuff that’s hard to quantify but still moves prices.

So yeah, maybe we’re more like the supervisors now, stepping in when something doesn’t feel quite right or when the model doesn’t capture the bigger picture. Could be that we’re just there to make the odd (ill-timed 😅) tweak, but I don’t think we’re totally out of the game just yet.

It’s a great question. We’re definitely going to see more of it, but God knows what will happen when we run into black swan events like COVID. Let’s see what carnage it causes then…

We might not have to wait too long with Trump’s tariffs…

                      • Japan’s Nikkei 225: ↓ ~9%
