TrioMarkets Review 2024
- Daytrading Review TeamBased on my evaluations, TrioMarkets is suitable for experienced traders looking for zero-commissions, PAMM accounts or reliable VPS services. That said, I'm not a huge fan of the small asset line-up, the offshore licensing, and the lack of educational resources.
TrioMarkets is true ECN broker established in 2014. The firm's headquarters is in Mauritius but has licensed offices in Europe and the the UAE. The brand has been recognized with global awards including the 'Most Trusted Forex Brokerage Company' from the Finance Derivative Magazine 2023.
Forex Trading
My tests found a decent range of 60+ major, minor and exotic currency pairs including EUR/USD and USD/JPY on the MT4 terminal. You can benefit from no dealing desk intervention and leverage up to 1:500.
Stock Trading
You can speculate on a small list of shares such as Netflix, Amazon and Microsoft with leverage up to 1:5 and $0 commission on three account types. Overall, the offering is very underwhelming compared to other brands.
CFD Trading
TrioMarkets offers a poor total selection of 130+ CFDs on the MT4 terminal. The Basic Account offers commission-free trading with average spreads of 2.4 pips, which is not very competitive compared to alternatives.
Crypto Trading
There are only 4 popular crypto CFDs available; BTC, ETH, LTC and XRP with 1:2 leverage. This is definitely one of the smallest ranges of cryptos I have seen so I think dedicated crypto traders may want to consider other options.
✓ Pros
- I feel reassured that clients can access the trusted MetaTrader 4 platform, which is accessible via desktop, web and mobile applications
- It's good to see that the broker offers a VPS, social trading, PAMM/MAM accounts and FXI API trading tools designed to enhance the overall experience
- I like that there's a choice of four account types with access to all instruments and competitive pricing
- I'm a fan of the true ECN execution model with no rejections or dealing desk intervention
✗ Cons
- I'm disappointed by the small product line-up of only 130+ instruments - much less than most brokers I review
- It's a shame that the broker only offers the MetaTrader 4 trading terminal, with no bespoke software or alternative options
- I'm a little hesitant that the global entity is regulated offshore by the Financial Services Commission (Mauritius)
- I'm not thrilled that withdrawal fees apply for some payment methods
- There is limited educational content available and I also noticed that much of the market news is outdated
TrioMarkets is an online ECN broker offering trading in forex, stocks and cryptocurrency through the MT4 platform. This review will evaluate the broker’s services, including the demo account, minimum deposit, leverage and login requirements. We’ll also explore their regulatory status.
TrioMarkets Overview
TrioMarkets was founded in 2014 by three financial professionals with over 20 years of market experience. TrioMarkets is headquartered offshore in Mauritius and has a support office in Limassol, Cyprus, as well as an additional branch in Dubai, UAE.
Today, the broker operates globally, offering a comprehensive spread of assets, trading platforms and accounts. TrioMarkets is predominately geared towards more experienced traders looking to execute high volume trades, although there are more basic, commission-free options for novice traders too.
Trading Platforms
TrioMarkets offers the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) platform and two additional add-ons; MT4 Trio Xtend and an MT4 web-based alternative.
MT4
MT4 is the primary trading platform offered by the broker. The easy to navigate and highly customisable interface makes it a crowd-pleaser among traders of all levels. The platform also hosts a wide range of features:
- Limit and Stop levels from 1 pip on all major forex pairs
- Dozens of technical indicators
- Automated trading (EAs)
- An intuitive interface
- Real-time charting
- One-click trading
- Analytical tools
- Mini lots
MT4 Trio Xtend
The platform extension enables both novice and experienced traders to trade like professionals. Features include innovative management tools, advanced trade execution, news and market data, plus sentiment trading. The add-on is quick and easy to configure.
MT4 Web Trader
The web trader platform enables users to trade from any device with an internet connection. There is no download or installation required. The web-based platform gives traders real-time financial markets and high-speed trade executions. Most of the downloadable features are available with the browser-based alternative.
Assets
TrioMarkets offers a decent breadth of 100+ tradable assets:
- Forex – Trade over 60 major, minor and exotic currency pairs such as the USD/EUR & EUR/GBP
- Commodities – Diversify your portfolio and trade gold, silver, crude oil or natural gas
- Cryptocurrency – Speculate on the price of Bitcoin, Ethereum, LiteCoin and Ripple
- Indices – Access major indices including the FTSE, DAX, & NASDAQ
- CFDs – Trade a wide range of CFDs, from any device
Spreads & Fees
Spreads vary by account type but are generally competitive. For Basic and Standard accounts, spreads begin at 2.4 pips, while for Advanced and Premium users, zero-pip spreads are available.
Basic and Standard account holders enjoy a commission-free structure. For Advanced accounts there is a commission per side of $5.5 and for Premium account holders, a commission per side of $4.
A dormancy fee of $30 per month is charged after three months of inactivity. Unfortunately, the broker could be more transparent about its additional fees. For example, overnight lending rates are unclear.
Leverage
TrioMarkets offers high leverage levels. On forex trades, leverage up to 1:30 is available while with CFDs, leverage up to 1:30 is accessible. For cryptocurrency trading, leverage is capped at 1:2.
Leverage is borrowed capital to increase potential profits. High leverage can increase returns, however it also carries the risk of substantial losses.
Mobile App
TrioMarkets offers a mobile platform to facilitate on-the-go trading. The mobile trader auto-syncs to the desktop platform for a seamless trading experience. The app is available to download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. It is fully functional, easy to navigate and boasts a suite of features:
- Interactive real-time charting
- Multiple time frames
- Edit open positions
- 30+ indicators
- Live quotes
Payment Methods
Payments can be made by Visa, Mastercard, ecommpay, Skrill, Neteller and Swissquote. Bank wire transfers are also accepted. The minimum deposit accepted is $500. Processing times depend on the account held but are guaranteed in between 6 and 24 hours.
There is a high withdrawal fee of 1.5% and a wire transfer fee of 1.5%, with a minimum charge of $25 and a maximum of $50. Withdrawal requests can only be made to an account registered to a TrioMarkets client.
Demo Account
TrioMarkets offers prospective clients the chance to trade risk-free through a demo account. Users are credited with 100,000 in virtual funds and an opportunity to trial new strategies, explore new instruments and test new markets. Demo account registration is quick and simple.
Bonuses & Promotions
TrioMarkets is not currently running any promotions.
Regulation & Licensing
TrioMarkets’ brokerage services are regulated offshore by the Mauritian Financial Services Commission (FSC) under license number C118023678. Traders should note that this is not considered a very respected financial authority and therefore clients’ funds will not benefit from robust safeguarding measures.
Additional Features
TrioMarkets offers a wide range of educational resources including market news, calendars and video chart analysis. There is also a glossary, a market summary feature and the TrioAcademy to help guide trading activities. The tools are easy to access and offer great insight. Additional features of the MT4 platform include access to VPS, Fix API and MAM.
Account Types
There are four accounts available to traders: Basic, Standard, Advanced and Premium.
Enjoy a zero commission structure with the Basic or Standard. These accounts are designed for novice and intermediate traders. The minimum deposit is $500 (or equivalent). FX leverage is available up to 1:30, CFD leverage is available up to 1:30, crypto leverage is 1:2, and the minimum spread is 2.4 pips.

TrioMarkets Verdict
TrioMarkets.com provides multi-asset trading via the MT4 platform. Spreads are leverage rates are competitive. However, as customer reviews indicate, minimum deposit requirements and withdrawal fees are high. We would recommend exploring the demo offering before opening a live account. In addition, the offshore regulation is a concern.
