Trade.com is a multi-asset online brokerage offering over 100,000 instruments on the MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and bespoke WebTrader platforms. The broker has a lot to offer from CFDs, IPOs, DMA (MT5 only) and ETFs. You can trade practically any asset including forex, commodities, cryptos, bonds, warrants and more. This review looks at the login process, available spreads, fees and payments. Find out if signing up with Trade.com is right for you.

Company Details

Trade.com was founded in 2013 and has since grown its presence in the online financial markets, with recognition from Bloomberg, Market Insider and Yahoo Finance just to name a few. Today, the company has thousands of active investors globally, across 125 markets.

The broker offers an extensive portfolio of financial instruments vs other providers, and Trade.com strives to offer something for everyone. The brokerage has established a three-stage process meaning that investors can join at any time, regardless of previous trading experience. This is achieved through several analysis tools and a secure platform with a broad range of assets.

Trade.com operates via several global entities, with multi-jurisdictional regulation, including from the CySEC (Cyprus), FCA (UK), FSCA (South Africa), and FSC (Mauritius).

Trade.com has also secured a license from the US Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). As a result, the US subsidiary, Trade Capital Markets North America LLC, will start accepting clients from the United States in 2023. Additionally, the online brokerage has plans to expand into Italy and India.

Trading Platforms

Trade.com offers three trading platforms; a proprietary WebTrader, MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5). Our experts confirm all platforms have a simple login process and mobile apps.

The bespoke web-based terminal can be used directly through all major internet browsers including Chrome and Safari. The MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 terminals are available to download to Windows and Mac devices or can also be used as web-based profiles.

All platforms are suitable for beginners, though when we used the terminals, the bespoke WebTrader platform does feel more modern and sleek vs MT4 and MT5.

How To Place A Trade On WebTrader

When we used the Trade.com WebTrader, it was evident that the platform had been designed for users of all experience levels. It was easy to explore, with a clear navigation bar and customizable tools. There was a useful ‘trending now’ screen, with assets of significant interest and price shifts detailed in this section.

It was quick and easy to create a new order:

  1. Login to your WebTrader profile
  2. Search for an asset using the nav bar along the top, or select from the ‘Trending Now’ screen, favorites or directly via the asset group
  3. Select ‘Buy’ or ‘Sell’. This will open the order screen
  4. Choose your order type; Market, Limit or Stop
  5. Enter your trade parameters including trade size, plus stop loss or take profit level
  6. Review the order including costs and charges
  7. Select ‘Place Order’

Products & Assets

Trade.com offers an impressive breadth of trading products with over 100,000 assets available on the platforms. This includes 2100+ CFDs, 100,000 assets available via DMAs, IPOs, ETFs and more:

Note, DMA is only available on MT5.

Spreads & Fees

Spreads with Trade.com vary depending on account type. The account tiering system generates tighter spreads based on higher balances. For example, the GBP/USD currency pair ranges from 1.9 pips on the Silver account to 0.8 pips on the Exclusive account. That said, to secure the tightest spreads, an account size of $100,000 is required, which is inaccessible for many beginners.

A varied commission fee applies for share trading, ranging from 0.2% + $10 on the Silver account to 0.08% on the Exclusive account. Crypto investments incur a flat commission fee of 0.5% for all account types.

When we used Trade.com, we felt assured of the transparent pricing structure, with average spread details by instrument available on the broker’s website.

The brokerage also charges fees on positions held overnight and a 2% currency conversion charge for positions opened in a currency different to your account denomination.

A monthly inactivity fee of $25 applies for dormant accounts after 90 days.

Trade.com Leverage

Trade.com offers margin trading so you can increase your purchasing power over your initial balance. The maximum leverage available across all account types is 1:300, although this will vary by your country of residency.

EU day traders will be restricted by ESMA leverage capping regulations introduced in 2018. This means a maximum leverage of 1:30 can be accessed on forex pairs.

Note that whilst high leverage ratios can lead to greater returns, they can also result in significant losses.

Mobile App Review

Both the proprietary WebTrader and the MetaTrader platforms are available via mobile apps with Trade.com. The applications are available to download from both Apple and Android app stores.

The mobile solutions are fully-featured with multiple chart types, risk management alerts and various payment options. You can manage your account, open and close positions, check live global pricing and view charts while on the go. Customer support is also available through all mobile apps.

When using the Trade.com WebTrader interface on mobile, we found the platform to be stable, with fast execution speeds and all the intuitive design elements of the desktop terminal. The MT4 and MT5 mobile apps are updated with all the latest tools found on the web terminals making them a great all-in-one solution.

Deposits & Withdrawals

Trade.com supports several global payment methods. Minimum deposit requirements vary by account type, the lowest being $100 under the Silver profile, which is ideal for beginners.

It is good to see that when using the Trade.com platform, the broker absorbs all deposit and withdrawal fees, though they reserve the right to introduce minimum withdrawal amounts.

There is limited information on processing times, though e-wallet payments and credit/debit cards often provide instant funding.

Accepted deposit and withdrawal methods include:

There is no minimum withdrawal except for bank transfers, where the requirement is $100. There are also no withdrawal fees, regardless of the payment method.

When using the Trade.com WebTrader platform, navigate to three horizontal lines at the top right corner to make a payment. Select ‘deposit’ if you want to add funds or ‘withdraw’ to cash out.

Trade.com Demo Account

A demo account is available to Trade.com day traders. Clients can access $10,000 in virtual funds to practice trading. The profile accurately replicates real-time trading conditions. A demo account is a great way to practice strategies risk-free and learn platform features and tools.

A simple online registration form is required, with users needing to enter just an email address and password creation.

Deals & Promotions

While using the Trade.com platform, no bonuses or promotions were offered to EU residents. This is common for EU-based brokers given the ESMA’s restrictions on financial incentives introduced in 2018. Nonetheless, for individuals trading under the global entity, keep an eye on the broker’s website for deals and promos to attract new traders in the future.

Always check the terms and conditions of financial incentives before exploring as unrealistic minimum thresholds and requirements may be set.

Regulation & Licensing

Trade.com is a trading name of several global entities;

Your country of residency will influence which entity you will trade through. Regulatory oversight varies by subsidiary, meaning consumer protection and access to compensation schemes may differ. Nonetheless, all clients benefit from negative balance protection and segregated client funds in top-tier banks for complete peace of mind.

Additional Features

Our experts found no comprehensive education center much like you can find at some other popular brokers, though, Trade.com does offer several additional features to enhance the trading experience. We were pleased with the wealth of resources and free tools, ideal for both beginners and novice traders.

The services can be used to refine strategies and validate market outlooks. Experienced investors can also use the powerful tools to get additional market insights and perform detailed technical analysis.

Extra tools include:

Trading Accounts

Trade.com offers several account types. Packages are suitable for varying portfolio types and initial investments. Spreads and trading conditions become more competitive as you move up the account tiers including a more hands on approach from the broker, though, all profiles benefit from a daily morning review analysis and 24-hour customer service.

Customer Support

Trade.com offers the following support options to its customers:

Traders will need to provide personal details before being connected to a customer service representative when using the live chat service. Once connected, support staff are quick to respond to queries and knowledgeable about the products, platforms and account options. When we tested the instant chat service, we received a response within two minutes.

Security & Safety

Our experts are confident that Trade.com is a safe and secure trading platform. As well as reputable regulatory oversight, the brokerage has implemented an investor compensation fund policy that should give traders confidence when deciding between brokers.

All data is transmitted using an SSL secure connection and company procedures are compliant with the PCI DSS security standard. The MetaQuotes platforms also use industry-standard security protocols. This includes two-factor authentication (2FA) and one-time passwords (OTPs) that can be added to all client accounts.

Trade.com Verdict

Trade.com is an established, multi-asset brokerage, which is an attractive prospect for aspiring day traders. The online broker offers an extensive selection of instruments, making it a one-stop solution for portfolio diversification. With that said, Trade.com is not the most competitive provider when it comes to spreads and fees. Though, if you’re willing to pay a little more, you will get access to leading tools, a vast portfolio of products, and the peace of mind of using a highly regulated trading broker.

Note, trading conditions vary depending on the citizenship of the client. This is in line with different regulatory restrictions.

Accepted Countries

Trade.com accepts traders from Thailand, United Kingdom, South Africa, Singapore, India, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Denmark, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Qatar and most other countries.

Traders can not use Trade.com from United States, Canada, Japan, Belgium, Australia, Hong Kong, France.
