Assets

SVK Markets offers an impressive range of tradeable instruments, beyond the selection seen at most established providers:

Fees

SVK Markets’ spreads are generally competitive. Forex spreads begin at 0.5 pips for EUR/USD, gold spreads at 0.3 points and options from 4.0 points. Commission fees are only charged on CFDs shares. But whilst relatively competitive on the surface, the broker doesn’t provide a detailed breakdown across products which is a drawback. As a result, we can’t say with confidence that SVK Markets is cheaper than other brokers.

Leverage Review

Up to 1:30 leverage is available when trading major forex pairs, 1:20 leverage is available when trading minors and the cap when trading commodities is 1:10. Leverage levels can be amended upon request and the current ratios are in line with FCA regulations. Global traders may also have access to leverage up to 1:200. Speak to the customer support team for details.

Note, leverage should only be used by experienced traders in conjunction with stringent risk and money management strategies.

Mobile Trading

SVK Markets offers a spread betting, CFD and forex trading app available on iOS, Android and Windows devices. The award-winning application offers live streaming, real-time charts, multiple order types and trading history. An easy to use and free to download app, it will meet the needs of beginners and experienced traders. Alternatively, clients can download the MT4 mobile app.

Deposits & Withdrawals

SVK Markets accepts payment via bank wire transfer, credit or debit card. The broker does not charge deposit or withdrawal fees. Deposits are usually processed the same day while withdrawals can take longer as identity documents may need to be verified. The minimum deposit at SVK Markets is $100. Note, the broker does not accept PayPal.

Demo Account

SVK Markets offers a free demo account. Credited with virtual funds, clients can try out one of the broker’s bespoke software solutions or test a strategy before risking real money. Given SVK Markets’ extensive product range, the demo account could also be a good way to explore trading interest rates or bonds, for example.

SVK Markets Bonuses

There were no sign-up bonuses available at the time of writing. With that said, clients can sign up for a free 8-day forex training course via the Education tab on the broker’s website. This is a useful offer for beginners new to the FX market.

Regulation

SVK Markets is the trading name of SVK Capital Management UK Ltd. The company is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under registration number 616032. The broker adheres to the FCA’s regulatory standards in relation to leverage, safety of client funds and general trading conditions. This is a good indication that the company is reliable and reputable.

Additional Features

On the SVK Markets website, traders will find a wide range of educational courses, including beginner guides to forex trading and advanced strategies. The addition of online courses is good for new traders and the broker is flexible when it comes to learning styles and timelines. Contact info@sereneeducation.com for more information.

Trading Accounts

SVK Markets offers one live account. Users are able to trade the full range of forex, CFD and spread betting products. The minimum deposit is $100 and position sizes start from 0.01 lots. Flexible leverage is offered up to 1:200 for international traders. Select the ‘Open an account’ tab on the broker’s website to get started.

Whilst a single account offering makes it easy to sign up and start investing, experienced traders often benefit from tighter spreads and advantageous conditions in return for larger deposits with higher account tiers.

Trading Hours

The hours in which you can, or should trade, are dependent on the individual asset and market. SVK Markets follows standard trading hours, so 24/5 Monday to Friday for forex. Head to the broker’s website or speak to the support team for details on specific markets.

Customer Support

To access customer support, head to the Contact us tab on the broker’s website. Support is available via:

Security

As a broker regulated by the FCA, clients enjoy some sense of security. On top of fund segregation, the company uses standard encryption to protect payments and client data. With that said, SVK Markets could be more open about the security protocols its platforms employ.

SVK Markets Verdict

SVK Markets is an established broker with lots to offer prospective traders. It’s particularly good for beginners looking to explore spread betting or CFDs on established financial markets. We also like the training courses for new traders and the several platform options. However, we were underwhelmed by the unclear fees and limited customer support. Overall, SVK Markets wouldn’t be our first choice. See our list of top brokers for alternative options.
